To increase food availability, optimizing production systems and reducing burdens related to human activities is essential in a scenario of population growth limited natural resources. In this context, the life cycle methodology can represent valuable asset for assessing environmental performance agricultural products services. This study sought investigate characterize potential impacts an experimental tomato field at University Perugia evaluate if increment obtained using high-reflective mulching compensated emissions caused by extra component. The first-year crop campaign was baseline reference measure system’s efficiency. A CML method applied demonstrated that covered (F1) associated with more than 23 kg CO2 eq (25% attributed mulch) comparison about 18 non-covered sector (F2). addition, electronic components drainage were linked most toxicity indicators. However, F1 field’s higher productivity mulch impact, resulting 9% lower equivalent per yield first year 18% each 30 years. results encourage application approach urban contexts several benefits.
